is a biblical concept of debt forgiveness and jsut distribution of
resources. Odious and immoral debat among poor nations causes
tremendous human suffering. Regular local meetings are third

The ONE Campaign -- Make Poverty
History!
ONE
is a new effort by Americans to rally Americans -- ONE by ONE -- to
fight the emergency of globals AIDS and extreme poverty. ONE
believes that allocation an additional ONE percent of the U.S. budget
toward providing basic needs like health, education, clean water and
food would transform the futures and hopes of an entire generation in
the world's poorest countries. ONE also calls for debt
cancellation, trade reform and anti-corruption measures in a
comprehensive package to help Africa and the poorest countries beat
AIDS and extreme poverty. Info:

Sisters fo the Road Café
Sisters
of the Road Café is a local café located at the corner of NW 6th Avenue
and NW Davis Street with teh purpose of providing a place for homeless
folks to "dine with dignity." Sisters of the Road supports
community driven solutions to the calamities of homelessness and
poverty, in an atmosphere of gentle personalism and nonviolence.
The Portland, Oregon café is open to everyone, serving low cost,
hot, nutritious meals that can be purchased in a variety of ways,
including with cash, food stamps, or in exchange for work. They
also provide job training, support to parents and children, and
innovative solutions to the issues surrounding poverty and homelessness
through self and community advocacy.
Join them for a meal Monday through Friday from 10am to 3pm.
